MASTERTECH presents pistons for rebuilding your motor. These pistons are made by WISECO, company started in 1941 by Clyde Wiseman, an old boat racer jus' like me who had a better idea. The company has expanded their line to include many applications including automotive and motorcycle, and is the piston of choice for use with today's fuels. All pistons come complete with rings, wristpins and retainers.

NOTES ON MERC L-3, L-4 INLINE MODELS:

THE DATE OF MANUFACTURE OF YOUR L-3 OR L-4 POWERHEAD CAN BE FOUND STAMPED ON THE UPPER PORT SIDE OF THE CYLINDER BLOCK AT THE CRANKCASE SPLIT LINE.
ON L-3 AND L-4 MOTORS TWO TYPES OF CONNECTING ROD / PISTON COMBINATIONS ARE USED - TOP AND BOTTOM GUIDED. THIS REFERS TO THE METHOD OF ALIGNING THE RODS TO THE CRANKPIN AND CYLINDER CENTERLINE. YOU CAN IDENTIFY WHICH TYPE YOU HAVE BY THE FORGING NUMBER ON THE ROD AS FOLLOWS:

TOP GUIDED = 646-81884
BOTTOM GUIDED = 638-85321
