MASTERTECH presents pistons for rebuilding your motor. These are PRO-V cast pistons unless noted.
PRO-V PISTONS HAVE A GRAY MOLY COATING TO REDUCE FRICTION & HEAT BUILD-UP DURING BREAK-IN.
WISECO forged perfomance pistons available at extra charge. Most WISECO pistons are available in additional oversizes not available in PRO-V.
All pistons come complete with rings, wristpins and retainers.

NOTES ON MERC L-3, L-4 INLINE MODELS:

THE DATE OF MANUFACTURE OF YOUR L-3 OR L-4 POWERHEAD CAN BE FOUND STAMPED ON THE UPPER PORT SIDE OF THE CYLINDER BLOCK AT THE CRANKCASE SPLIT LINE.
ON L-3 AND L-4 MOTORS TWO TYPES OF CONNECTING ROD / PISTON COMBINATIONS ARE USED - TOP AND BOTTOM GUIDED. THIS REFERS TO THE METHOD OF ALIGNING THE RODS TO THE CRANKPIN AND CYLINDER CENTERLINE. YOU CAN IDENTIFY WHICH TYPE YOU HAVE BY THE FORGING NUMBER ON THE ROD AS FOLLOWS:

TOP GUIDED = 646-81884
BOTTOM GUIDED = 638-85321
